When it Comes to Black Art Chicago is in a League of its Own
Epochal Black arts movements and artists have thrived in Chicago and influenced the world. Collectives like AfriCOBRA and Black Arts Movement (BAM); institutions like the South Side Community Art Center(SSCAC); and arts giants like Simone Leigh, Amanda Williams and Nick Cave have defined art not just for this city but globally. Pigment International has assembled a cross-generational panel to discuss what makes the city’s art scene so influential and what’s next.
Join Pigment International at the 2023 Something I Can Feel Experience on Sunday, July 9th from 3 pm — 4 pm when we host a Salon Talk with Sherman Beck, one of the 10 founders of AfriCobra; Artist Paul Branton; Angela Williams, Museum of Science & Industry; and Edo White, Artist and Brand Ambassador. The conversation will be moderated by Pigment International founder Patricia Andrews-Keenan.
Located at the Shops at North Bridge, 520 N. Michigan Ave. Register here.
